Which Countries Are the Largest Whisky Importers?

France leads the pack, according to this The Economist article:

I liked very much this statistic. It would be very interesting to consider the population, because in certain countries who drink whiskey are the middle class and richs. The Poor in Brazil drink a lot rum and skincariol.

Well, the U.S.A distills a lot of whiskey domestically, and I'm sure is a large exporter. I wonder how much whiskey France makes itself. If it isn't much, that would explain why it is such a large importer.
